These part-time taught courses have been developed to provide medical and health science professionals with specialist knowledge and skills in the area of pharmaceutical medicine so that they may extend their professional role within the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare system.

Successful graduates of these programmes will be able to critically appraise the rationale for, and principal steps in, the research development plan of a medicine, and will be able to demonstrate competence in the management of all lifecycle activities of a medicine, including pharmacoeconomic aspects and drug safety.

Trinity is a partner in PharmaTrain, the EU-funded Innovative Medicines Initiative. These courses have been accredited by PharmaTrain and Trinity has been designated as a PharmaTrain Centre of Excellence for pharmaceutical medicine training.

Applicants for these courses must hold a primary degree in either medicine or another relevant science subject and should have a minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in their area of qualification/ pharmaceutical industry.

MASTERS IN MEDICINE (TR U85)

This innovative taught masters programme is offered to medical graduates in training who wish to develop their research skills, broaden their research interests and develop advanced knowledge in selected areas of clinical and scientific practice. The aim of the course is to provide advanced training for participants in key domains of excellence relevant to modern medical practice for all students (by way of core modules), while also providing specialist knowledge relevant to their individual chosen career pathways, by way  of optional modules (in the disciplines of either Molecular and Translational Medicine or Population Health and Health Implementation). The course is offered as a 1-year full-time degree, or as a 2-year part-time degree.
