The National Mental Health Services Collaborative (NMHSC) will host a symposium entitled ‘Individual Care Planning: Enabling the Paradigm Shift to Recovery-Focused Care – Lessons from the National Mental Health Services Collaborative
Co-hosted by St Patrick's University Hospital, Dublin, the HSE, St John of God Hospital Limited and the Mental Health Commission, this symposium will be held at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin and attendance is free of charge. Magee proposes changes to bed designations

The Department of Health is still considering proposals made by HSE CEO Mr Cathal Magee at the end of last year to change regulations around acute hospital private bed designations, which he said would lead to significant improvement in hospital management, IMN has learned. Mr Magee wrote to Secretary General of the Department, Mr Michael Scanlan, on October 20 2010, seen by IMN through Freedom of Information, stating that “ensuring equitable access and optimising the recovery of the cost of maintenance of all privately treated patients are difficult to achieve within the present system”.
